Organized by the Philippine Tour Operators Association (PHILTOA) and in partnership with the Department of Tourism, the 21st Philippine Travel Mart proved to be a big success as Filipinos and foreigners alike flocked SM Megatrade hall last Sept. 3 – 5, supporting entrepreneurs and owners in the travel and tourism industry.
Considered as the biggest travel and tourism trade show in the country, Philippine Travel Mart aims to promote and sell inbound and domestic tour packages to potential travelers in various regions, provinces, and top tourist destinations all over the Philippines.
“We are constantly finding ways to promote Philippine tourism. The 21st Philippine Travel Mart is the perfect venue for Filipinos to be aware of endless tourist attractions and destinations the country has to offer,” PHILTOA president Cesar Cruz said.
Resorts, hotels, airlines, and tour operators are some of the exhibitors in the event. A major attraction to visitors was the Mutya ng Davao contest, as well as free products and goods from Davao province.
Visitors were also given a sticker to be posted on their favorite pavilion. Crowd favorites were the pavilions of Ilocos Region, Bicol Region, Central Visayas Region, and CALABARZON region. Most of the visitors grabbed the opportunity to book discounted fair tickets in Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Zest Air, and SEAIR.
With Philippine Travel Mart as its flagship program, PHILTOA is known as the only association of tourism enterprises committed to promote and market domestic and inbound tourism. Founded in June 1986, its members include travel agencies, hotel, resorts, transportation companies, handicraft stores, and other tourism-oriented establishments and association.
