Country's Beauty Enthusiasts Converge at HBFL Asia 2009

One of the Philippines’ known expo for the burgeoning industry of salons, spas and health care, named Health, Beauty, Fitness & Lifestyle Asia 2009 (HBFL Asia 2009), will stage its fourth run on Aug. 14 to 16 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

At least 8,000 disciples of beauty are expected to gather at the event that will be made more exciting with the addition of co-located events such as the 2nd Health Care Asia, the 2nd Beauty of Life Asia and the 2nd Fitness and Lifestyle Asia.

“HBFL Asia 2009 provides each company the opportunity and platform to position new leads and relationships thru refreshing ideas and products. Philippine Horticultural Society Staged Horticulture 2009

Horticulturist and plant enthusiasts took part in the 33rd Annual Horticultural Show (Horticulture 2009) held last July 16 – 25, 2009 at the Commonwealth Avenue part of the Quezon City Memorial Cirle in Quezon City.

Organized by the Philippine Horticultural Society in cooperation with Quezon City Government and Parks Development, the event carried the theme, “A Walk in the Park”, which aims to educate people on the uses of plants in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The theme was also chosen to reiterate the need to have public nature parks within a congested city.

Quezon City Mayor Feliciano 'Sonny' Belmonte and National Committee on Disability Affairs (NCDA) Chairperson Rosie Lovely Romulo graced the opening ceremony. During the event, numerous seminar were conducted that tackled various topics such as bonsai culture, probiotics, monopodial orchids, growing ferns, aquatic gardening, gamma irradiation, tray and garden landscaping, flower arrangement, among others. The Memorial Circle also served as an exhibit area where plant groups and individuals showcased their ornamental plants.
