NorthPhil Expo 2010 kicks off in Clark

One of the most anticipated travel fairs in the country, the North Philippines (NorthPhil) Tourism and Travel Expo 2010, opened its doors once again to various tourism sectors and enthusiasts last Nov. 12 at the SM City Clark, Pampanga.

Spearheaded by the Department of Tourism (DOT) regional offices, NorthPhil 2010 aims to boost the tourism industry as well as show the culture and beauty of different northern provinces.

According to DOT Central Luzon Director Ronnie Tiotuico, the gathering of industry leaders from the government and private sector would “underscore the significance of the North Philippines as a major component of the country's tourism spectrum.”

The event was highlighted by talks from by DOT Asst. Secretary Benito Bengzon, Jr., Governor Bellaflor Angara-Castillo of Aurora province, and Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda. A number of parades and dance numbers Pangasinan State University and Zambales Performing Arts among others, served as entertainment for guests and mall-goers.

Some of the activities included presentation and talks from different organizations like the Zamboanga Resort Owners Associations (ZROA) and the Pampanga Agents and Travel Society.

Cultural presentations from the province of Tarlac, Pampanga, Cagayan Valley, and Zambales also added to the enjoyment of the guests.

For Tiotuico, developments from cities like Subic and Clark served as an “effective marketing tool.”

“[In return], the NorthPhil Expo promotes the region as a start-off point for a tour in the entire archipelago,” he said.

The expo is a project of DOT offices in Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos, Pangasinan, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, and managed by the Philippine Exhibits and Theme parks Corporation.

3rd Philippine International Tourism Fair 2009

3rd Philippine International Tourism Fair 2009

Businesses involved in travel and medical tourism industry are invited to take part in the 3rd Philippine International Tourism Fair (PITF) 2009 to be held on June 25 – 27, 2009 at the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu in Cebu City.

Organized by the National Association of Independent Travel Agencies (NAITAS) – Philippines Inc., and supported by the Department of Tourism (DOT) and Philippine Convention and Visitors Corporation (PCVC), this year's installment of the PITF carries the theme “Best Hospitality on Earth... Philippines”.

The PITF is the only annual travel fair event in the Philippines that provides business-to-business networking activity between foreign buyers and Philippine sellers, presents quality tourism products and services through corporate exhibition, and serves as a networking venue and business development exchange for the industry players, partners, and stakeholders.

Furthermore, the three-day tourism fair will provide opportunities for companies to market their products and services and enhance business image locally and internationally. Ultimately, the event seeks to promote and develop inbound and domestic tourism in the country.

Highlights of the 3rd PITF 2009 include the Travel Market Exchange (TRAMEX), corporate exhibition, product launching, marketing presentations, social business events, and various seminars and education sessions.

The TRAMEX, managed and supervised by PCVC, is a face-to-face, business-to-business networking activity where quality foreign buyers meet Philippine sellers in a total business generation environment. It aims to encourage foreign buyers from key travel markets to promote, sell, and include the Philippines in their tour programs. TRAMEX, slated on June 26, 2009, promises to generate maximum exposure of leading Philippine destinations.
